Merem
Merem is a Rotterdam based band that was created by five greek musicians who crossed paths in the Netherlands . Their music is a blend of jazz with greek traditional and folk often inspired by the rembetiko and makam musical genres. In September 2023 they released their first album "Merem" named after the band which features original compositions of the band members which takes the listener on a journey to their unique musical vision. Since they started in November 2021, they have performed in several musical venues and festivals around Netherlands , France, Belgium and Greece while their most significant performance was in the North Sea Jazz Festival 2023.
