Reentko Dirks
Reentko Dirks is a guitarist, composer, and producer known for his unique blend of acoustic guitar, contemporary classical, world music, and cinematic sound. His highly expressive guitar style and innovative compositions have led to collaborations with major international artists and ensembles. Reentko has written music for Cirque du Soleil and the Semperoper Dresden and performed with Yo-Yo Ma, Peter Bruns, Ben Becker, and accordion virtuoso Ksenija Sidorova. His guitar-driven works have been heard at iconic venues including Carnegie Hall and 92Y in New York, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow. From 2012–2015 he toured and composed for clarinet legend Giora Feidman. Reentko also writes film music, most recently for the Czech blockbuster Nationalstraße together with pianist Clemens Christian Poetzsch. Reentko is a member of the European Guitar Quartet and part of Masaa, winners of the German Jazz Award 2021. In 2021 he released Istanbul 1900 with Turkish guitarist Erkin Cavus—a crossover guitar album blending classical, jazz, and world music that reached the charts in several countries.
