DJ Aakmael

Greg Stewart aka DJ Aakmael is a house head in the purest sense of the word. A native of Richmond, Virginia, Aakmael has been active in the deep house game for nigh on twenty years. During that time, he’s repped some of the scene’s most integral and respected labels, with releases on the likes of Uzuri, Freerange and most recently, Axe on Wax winning him plaudits from his DJ peers and deep house connoisseurs alike. Closer to home, Greg’s own label, Unxpozd Entertainment continues to play a focal role in his output, playing host to more than 20 of his own original EPs. Indeed, it’s far from just his production prowess for which DJ Aakmael is renowned. A prolific DJ, he’s held down a deep house radio show for over 20 years, first on local radio station WDCE 90.1fm and now online, a medium that continues to win him new admirers aplenty. Greg has held also held residencies in an array of U.S. based clubs and has performed in some of the east coast’s most established and respected nightspots such as Good Room, Bossa Nova, Output and more.
