AKLI is a post-punk / industrial music project that was created while the world was locked down by the pandemic. Isolation and solitude shaped the band lead's Kristijonas Valančius musical ideas, conveying contemplations of self-worth, lust, cynicism, and illuminating moments of honesty. Aggressively melancholic songs, interwoven with introspective lyrics in native language, are fit for both, an introverted listener in a gloomy room and a packed music venue. Over the course of 3 full-length albums, AKLI has remained faithful to dark guitars, synthesisers, pulsating song structures and emotionally charged vocals, continuing to develop their creative self-reflection and the dynamics of songwriting into their 4th creative stage. The band’s 3 full-length albums are beloved by a loyal and ever-growing audience, proven through packed solo gigs, support slots for the legendary PIXIES and FONTAINES D.C., performances at the main Lithuanian festivals, a Baltic tour, music videos that enhance the band's theatrical aesthetics, and several nominations by the national music awards.
