On an Orkney isle, siblings Isla and Sandy survive by hunting seabirds, retelling the stories of their ancestors, and defending the isle from dreaded "Incomers". Their world is upended with the arrival of an awkward council worker who has come to uproot them from their homeland.

A charming comedy from the UK. The Scottish government finds out that a brother and sister have been living on an ostensibly uninhabited island for 30 years, and they send Domhnall Gleason to evict them. What follows is an amusing sort-of-fish-out-of-water tale, where they all three take turns being the fish.From the title and the premise, you’d expect that the whole thing would be a thinly veiled allegory for immigration, a pretty common theme in today’s movies. But it’s not really about that. Instead, it’s about loneliness, another topic that’s particularly relevant these days, and one that probably doesn’t get the same amount of thematic attention in the cinema world. The coverage here gives the movie a bit of extra freshness.Gleason is great as always, the situations are funny, the storytelling/fantasy flourishes are clever, and the whole thing is positive and heartwarming.
