Birdvox
Underground καλλιτέχνης art pop
Political disco; skewed-folk floor-fillers; avian electronica; hymns to humanity... Birdvox is Sarah Hayes (vocals, synth, flute, drum programming), a founding member of Glasgow’s beloved Admiral Fallow; Inge Thomson (vocals, accordion, field recordings, drum programming), a longtime collaborator with the multi-award-winning songwriter and storyteller Karine Polwart; Jenny Sturgeon (vocals, guitars, keys, sampling), a SAY-nominated solo artist, and singer with alt-folk mainstays Salt House; and Charlotte Printer (vocals, bass, percussion) who’s previously performed with revived Scottish pop icons Altered Images, and Loyle Carner-collaborator Joesef. Their much-anticipated debut album Shamming The Drama will be released on Hudson Records in September 2026. There’s no dabbling on this record. No token gestures. It has a point of view. Shamming The Drama is new music pulled from pasts that never met. It's post-folk, post-pop, post-pigeonhole. It's the sum of all its parts. It's what happens when you rewrite the recipe, shake the kaleidoscope, and make a record only these four people could make, together.
