Funkool Orchestra

The Funkool Orchestra is the live extension of the vinyl show, from the historic Neapolitan selecters crew FunKooL, active since the early 2000. The Funkool Orchestra live show reminds of a journey into the most flourishing period of US and international soul, disco and funk productions, blending original cuts with reworks of obscure discofunk, afrobeat, boogaloo, spaghettifunk and napolisound tracks from the ‘70s and early ‘80s. The strength of the live show comes from the punchy groove of the 11 elements on stage and the obsessive technique to reach a “black” sound, enriched by the power of the brass section and the three vocalists. Their production – based on the collaboration with the labels Maledetta Discoteca for the Italian market and Funk Night Records for the US market – includes two singles (Latin Freak, 2021 and Maledetta Discoteca, 2023) anticipating the release of the debut album “Latin Freaks” (2023). The third single extracted from Latin Freaks, Can’t Keep Foolin’ (2023), featuring Joe Bataan, the King of Latin Soul. They are currently working on the second album release, with the first single in March 2025.
