Underground καλλιτέχνης pop rock
Aminta Skye is a young pop rocker you don't want to miss. Drawing inspiration from her intersecting identities as a queer Senegalese-American growing up in the Pacific Northwest, the 22 year old’s thoughtful lyrics and instrumental arrangements demonstrate a well-studied foundation in the classics of indie, pop, post-punk, rock, and every in-between. Skye binds the nostalgic sonic landscapes of Jeff Buckley, Paramore, and the 1975 with her own ethos to create music that touches the soul. Skye's love of songwriting developed at a young age from a fascination with the way songs serve equally as a bridge to connect an artist to a listener (or a listener to themselves), and as a vessel for self inquiry and confession for the writer. While finishing her pop songwriting degree at the University of Southern California, Skye can be found captivating audiences across LA at iconic venues like the Hotel Café and Yamashiro, or playing for renowned show production companies including Sofar Sounds and Breaking Sound. Her recent live taping at Brandy Melville Studios can be experienced on the company’s social media platforms. Skye's third single, "Forget it All," was released September 27th this year. There is SO MUCH MORE ON THE WAY so stick around🫀
