Anoushka Lucas

Anoushka Lucas is an award-winning singer, songwriter, actor and playwright based in London. Born and raised in West London to a French-Cameroonian mother and an Anglo-Indian father, Anoushka began writing songs at the age of 14. Inspired by the likes of Carole King, Amy Winehouse, and Fiona Apple, whose honesty and musicianship ring out loudly through their songs, Anoushka spent much of her 20s trying and failing to secure a record deal. During a decade of gigging, Anoushka built a cult fanbase in London, regularly selling out shows at the 606 Club, Upstairs at Ronnie Scott's and the Troubadour. Between 2010 and 2013 she released 2 EPs on CD, before releasing her debut album "Dark Soul' across all platforms in 2019. This album was championed by Jamie Cullum on BBC radio 2, with Cullum describing her as "an exceptional voice and a great songwriter." Struggling to make ends meet as a singer/songwriter, Anoushka began composing music for theatrical productions, before tentatively trying her hand at acting in her early 30s (to huge success!) and then unexpectedly penning her first play a few years later. To date Anoushka been nominated for one Olivier Award, 2 Black British Theatre Awards , an Evening Standard Theatre Award, multiple Offies and in 2023 she was awarded the Best Writer Award at the Stage Debut Awards. Anoushka will be releasing her second studio album - Make Believe - in summer 2026. She is currently writing her second play.
