HJirok is a fictional character conceived by acclaimed artist and singer Hani Mojtahedy. »Hjirok« is based on recordings of Sufi music that together with Andi Toma of Mouse On Mars were processed and enriched with field recordings to set the stage for this mythical figure. Her unconventional vocal techniques and polyglot lyrics let personal memories become political promises.
