Giulia Marro

Rising star of the UK jazz scene, clarinet player and vocalist Giulia Marro will be releasing her fully original debut album ‘A Portrait of Giulia’ in March 2025! Inspired by the swing era and the composers of this time, Giulia’s original music has reflections of Barney Bigard and Jimmy Giuffre. The Giulia Marro Quartet includes some of the UK’s best rhythm section players - Honey Boulton, Tom Ward and Ben Love. Bringing swing to the forefront, this band mainly plays original music with a mix of their favourite standards/songbook tunes. Having studied under Mike Williams and Benjamin Herman at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and Royal Conservatoire the Hague, Giulia’s playing is steeped in tradition. Giulia has led bands across the UK in popular jazz venues and captivates audiences with her warm, vibrato filled clarinet playing, inspired by clarinet greats Barney Bigard and Artie Shaw.
