The Autocollants

Κομμάτια5

Upon the 1996 release of their first EP, "Tennis Racket," the southern California quartet known as The Autocollants brought on their simple, unpretentious style of bedroom indiepop. With the lineup consisting of Laura Watling (lead vocals and bass), Dwayne Palasek (drums and horns), Tim Morris (guitar), and Ed Mazzucco (guitar and drums), their appeal of Stereolab, Lush, and a trademark of breezy, relaxed sound continued the following year as Tinseltones packaged the bands second EP "Casa." However, by 1997 The Autocollants called it quits when Ed moved to New York. Laura continued making music with Casino Ashtrays, Cartwheel -- with former Autocollants member Dwayne- as well as releasing solo music under Laura Watling Shelflife Records eventually gathered and released most of The Autocollants' discography on the 1999 compilation "Why Couldn't Things Just Stay The Same. " Ed, Laura, and Dwayne reformed, along with vocalist and guitarist Matthew Bice, to form the shoegaze / dreampop band Tears Run Rings which has released 2 EPs and 4 albums to date.
