Fools Affection

A new indie retro pop. Fools Affection is the meeting of the two complementary voices of Adrien Rouyer and Kostia Yordanoff, intertwining in a warm, vibrant take on pop. The band crafts a new retro pop sound, blending the elegance of the ’70s (Supertramp, Simon & Garfunkel, Elton John) with the modern psych energy of artists like Tame Impala, Sam Evian, and General Elektriks. Their music plays with nostalgia while staying firmly grounded in the present, with inventive melodies that feel instantly familiar, vocal harmonies that stick with you, and an energy that comforts as much as it moves. After their debut EP Songs for the People (2024), Fools Affection continued their journey in 2025 with a series of singles leading up to their second release, Only the Lonely Are Free. On stage, the band expands its world with psychedelic keyboards and a soulful saxophone, creating a more organic and generous live sound. Formed by Adrien Rouyer (vocals, drums), Kostia R. Yordanoff (vocals, bass), Lucas Piette (saxophone, keyboards), and Thibaud Escure (guitar, keyboards), Fools Affection shape a heartfelt, luminous kind of pop, one where friendship and musical chemistry matter just as much as the groove itself. Each song aims to capture something timeless: that familiar spark connecting eras, sounds, and emotions.
