Swedish-born, London-based vocalist, composer, and bandleader Liselotte Östblom works across jazz, gospel, and improvised music. Her sound is shaped by deep engagement with vocal tradition, live collaboration, and improvisation, moving fluidly between intimate expression and expansive ensemble work. Östblom began performing publicly at a young age and later chose to step away from early commercial success to develop her own artistic language. Since then, she has built an international performance career, appearing at venues and festivals including Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, Wigmore Hall, Stockholm Jazz Festival, London Jazz Festival, and the Royal Albert Hall. She is the frontwoman of BOREAL SUN, whose EP DAWN (2024) received international radio support from Gilles Peterson, Jamie Cullum (BBC Radio), and China Moses (Jazz FM). Alongside her band projects, she maintains an experimental solo outlet under the name smiling LIS. Liselotte Östblom is currently based in London and continues to work internationally as a recording artist and collaborator.
