Anúna
Ντόπιος, καλοδουλεμένος καλλιτέχνης celtic
Created by Dublin composer Michael McGlynn, ANÚNA blend the sonic tapestries of real and imagined worlds with ease. The name comes from "An Uaithne," an Irish term for the three ancient forms of Irish music: Suantraí (lullaby), Geantraí (happy song), and Goltraí (lament). McGlynn’s striking compositional voice is central to ANÚNA’s identity, giving their music a timeless quality that resonates globally. They have been signed to Decca, Polygram, Universal, Koch and Universal Classics, charting on Billboard on many occasions and performed on the greatest stages in the world from Radio City Music Hall to The Royal Albert Hall. ANÚNA gained increased international attention through Riverdance the Show from 1995 to 1996, contributing four cuts to the Grammy Award-winning soundtrack. A diversity of collaborators includes The Wiggles, Elvis Costello, The Chieftains, Barry Manilow among many others. ANÚNA has contributed significantly to video game music, with their work on Xenoblade Chronicles II composed by Yasunori Mitsuda which won the Outstanding Ensemble award at the 2018 Game Music Awards, and their vocals on the Diablo III Soundtrack earned a Game Audio Network Guild nomination for the Best Original Choral Performance. That soundtrack received a BAFTA nomination. Their discography reflects their pioneering spirit, from the esoteric Invocation (1994) through the apocalyptical soundscapes of Revelation (2015) to this year's ground-breaking Eilífð (2025).
