Chiff Chaffs is a Belgian band from Courtrai and Tournai, formed during the 2020 lockdowns. The lineup—Gilles "King Rat" Deschamps, Autys Toxico, Jantie Flyer, and Nolf Kaka—fuses their diverse creative and musical backgrounds into a wild, eclectic sound. Blending raw 60s punk with 50s instrumentals, their music shifts from breakneck speeds to broken-hearted beats, and from raw instrumentals to multi-voiced screams. The band released their debut 7" EP in 2021 on Hopvil Records, followed by a 2022 debut album on Trashwax Records, now in its second sold-out pressing. In 2023, they released a single with Hyperloop Records, featuring animated videos by King Rat and Autys, which received airplay on the BBC, Spanish National Radio, and NYC FM radio. Their latest release, a 12" EP recorded at Swampland Studio, dropped in 2024 on Trashwax Records. Chiff Chaffs has played shows across Europe, the UK, and the west coast of the USA, supporting acts like Batmobile and The Cavemen while hitting major festivals. With more European dates coming up, the band is hard at work on their second album.
