Oktae is a story obsessed observer of all things natural and person-made. All things bass and beautiful. Grown in the subconscious of a delicately strong mind, songs by Oktae encourage you to think, feel, forgive and accept. The first solo project from artist Casey Lim - Oktae, seeks to offer comfort and understanding through her music, believing that no one needs to be alone, or unloved. Exploring the constant balance of the human condition and putting into words the thoughts that constantly circle her mind. Oktae blends personal philosophy, hard truths and a guide to living with ‘intentional flow’. Therapy in the form of sultry R&B and soulful pop. Casey has been creating since childhood, showing an early passion for stories, lyrics and melodies. Born in Epsom, England, to an English mother and Korean father, she has an English mind and an Eastern soul. Living as a physical manifestation of a two-sided story; nothing is simple, and yet everything is. Creating now under her middle name ‘Oktae’ - a name shared with her Korean grandmother, she endeavours to be the truest version of herself yet. Seeking to answer the question: ‘Why are we here? And why should we care?’ Oktae’s solo songwriting style is honest-ethereal-pop, with elements of soul and R&B. With a passion for dance music, Oktae also reaches a variety of global crowds by collaborating with D&B, UKG & Alternative producers. ‘Everything that’s got Oktae’s voice on it – everything she touches turns to gold’
