Flora Hibberd

The music of Flora Hibberd is an arrow to the heart, an entangled mass of image and illusion. Born in London, she has called Paris home since the age of eighteen. As likely to veer into guitar or synth-driven pop as to take up a 17th century traditional, the songs pulse with surreal allusions and mundane emotions: everyday life is full of cosmic signs. Hibberd's songwriting is a walk in a strangely familiar neighbourhood, that reveals and revels in the mundane and the mystic. Her acclaimed debut album Swirl (2025, 22TWENTY) was recorded in Eau Claire, Wisconsin and praised by press internationally, including Le Monde, who hailed it as one of the standout indie-folk releases of the year, and KEXP, who hailed her last release as "a timeless collection of sweeping folk-pop". With Mammoth, her upcoming album, she takes things further: Hibberd's initial folk-leanings are transformed into an art-rock, alt-pop vision. Produced by Ben Lanz (Beirut, The National), these are ten songs shot through with the energy of an epoch, gone electric, raging and vital. Mammoth is out on October 16 via 22TWENTY.
