Ruven Ruppik

Ruven Ruppik is a percussionist, specialised in different traditional music styles. The interweaving of various musical cultures is the source of his inspiration and sound. He came into contact with music auto-didactically at a very young age and started taking drum and piano lessons at the age of 8. He quickly developed a special affinity for rhythm, groove and all kinds of drums and percussion instruments. Ruven Ruppik expresses himself through different music styles such as Flamenco, Mediterranean Music, Ottoman Music, Latin/Brazilian Music and explores the rich world of North Indian classical music. He collaborated with artists such as Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia, Estrella Morente, Paco Peña, José Manuel León, Niladri Kumar, Carles Benavent, Aynur, Jorge Pardo, Kudsi Erguner, Rosario Toledo, Alicia Carrasco, Rima Khcheich etc. Over the last years he has given numerous workshops and master classes all over Europe and teaches percussion at the University of the arts in Zurich, Switzerland.
