Mad Keys
Καλοδουλεμένος καλλιτέχνης jazz beats
Mad Keys is the kind of artist who doesn’t just blur genre lines—he reimagines the map entirely. Rooted in hip-hop but deeply fluent in jazz, soul, and experimental textures, the St. Louis-bred, DM(V)-based producer and multi-instrumentalist has carved a lane where analog warmth meets finesse. A classically trained violinist, Mad Keys (born Brandon McCadney) began shaping his sound at nine years old. By middle school, he was crafting beats with his brother, unknowingly laying the groundwork for a future defined by musical curiosity. After graduating college in 2015, he dropped LoveWaves, his debut producer project, and in 2020 followed with Balance, a full-length album of instrumentals and live arrangements with STL-based musicians Donald Williams (Super Hero Killer) and Jeremiah Long. The standout track, “Big Open Spaces,” became a quiet storm, crossing the million-stream mark organically. His story took a turn in 2020, when a move to the Washington, D.C. area forced a career crossroads: pursue a stable path in communication design or dive headfirst into music. He chose the latter. What followed was a creative renaissance. Through raw, behind-the-scenes content and a steady output of genre-fluid instrumentals, he built a digital ecosystem that caught the attention of listeners from around the world. A string of releases and collaborations led to a Soulection White Label EP and most recently, a European tour with Oddisee & Good Compny.
