Κομμάτια10

Born on 1 December 1931 in Rome, Maestro Sandro Brugnolini got his start in jazz in the '50s as a clarinetist, founding his first musical group, the Junior Dixieland Jazz Band. In 1956, he began to switch to alto sax later becoming the leader of the historic Italian combo Modern Jazz Gang, arranging and writing most of the musical production of the group. Assisted by other famous musicians such as Amedeo Tommasi, Cicci Santucci, and Enzo Scoppa, Sandro Brugnolini led the " Modern Jazz Gang "since their 1960 album - considered their true debut - Miles Before and After, which has since become a true cult classic among Italian jazz lovers. In 1963, Brugnolini worked on the soundtrack of the film "Gli Arcangeli" by Enzo Battaglia always at the helm of his Modern Jazz Gang and together with the famous singer Helen Merrill. In the mid-1960s, Brugnolini also began to deal with parallel musical perspectives to the world of jazz, undertaking a solo career and dedicating himself above all to composition, always steeped in swing despite the different musical genres addressed: it is here that has left an indelible mark in the golden age of Italian Library Music.
