Egotist

Egotist embodies the legacy of the darker side of indie rock. Weathering the cold of winter, the band drags listeners through the miserable mornings towards the blooming nostalgia of summer. Egotist defies hibernation to bring the most authentic and raw version of themselves to the everyday ears of rain-battered romantics. The philosophy of Egotist surpasses the initial impression of what a ‘band’ should be, manifesting instead as the collective creative consciousness of its members who each play the role of songwriter, composer, producer, multi-instrumentalist and artist. Egotist’s latest presentation is a deceptively melancholic plea for purpose and direction in a world of noise and commodification that softens the creative senses. Vocalist and lyricist Joe Prior explains: “the song has this massive, euphoric chorus juxtaposed with the demand of a brighter future, in a sort of man-yells-at-God type of way. Life is fleeting and so we have to keep pushing if we want to make the most of it.”
