Apperson

Apperson is an alternative rock band from Los Angeles, California. Started out as a solo side project of frontman, Joe Calixto, to be able to put out mellower music away from his other band Wolves (Los Angeles Hardcore band). Heavily inspired by 90s alternative rock and early 2000’s emo, Apperson songs are focused on heart wrenching lyrics and catchy hooks, while keeping it pure and simple. In 2016, Joe linked up with nurse, restauranteur and drummer, Justin Foronda, and started turning Apperson’s acoustic tunes into full band jams. Shortly after, the band got bass player Derek Fematt and guitar player Brandon Michel. The band released their debut EP ‘Best Times/Worst Nights’ in 2017 and played all around the state to promote the record. The same year, they recruited, Audrey Macasieb as the final piece to the puzzle. Apperson is band composed of POC, queers, immigrants, punks, emo kids, hardcore kids, proving that being a minority doesn’t have to stop you from having the time of your life.
