Geographer
Geographer is the moniker for the now Los Angeles-based Mike Deni. He has headlined many national tours, played Outside Lands, Just Like Heaven, Firefly, Treefort, and other festivals, and has performed with such musical luminaries as The Flaming Lips, Young The Giant, Tom Jones, Tycho, K.Flay, Ratatat, Betty Who, and Tokyo Police Club. In 2025 Geographer released a special anniversary edition of his seminal EP Animal Shapes for its 15th anniversary. The accompanying tour drew sold out crowds throughout the US, celebrating not only the EP that cemented Deni as one of the premiere purveyors of 2010s indie synth pop, but also his most recent and critically acclaimed full length, 2024’s A Mirror Brightly (Nettwerk Records). Through many lineup changes and shifting styles the one constant in Geographer’s sound has been Deni’s haunting falsetto, soaring above the sometimes gentle and often maximalist arrangements of his diverse catalog. Geographer is currently working on several albums, and will be releasing new music steadily throughout the remainder of 2026.
