Lucy Khanyan

Bio Lucy Khanyan is a pianist, composer, who composes and plays a fusion of contemporary Armenian avant-garde folk and world elements incorporating impressionistic, surreal colors and multi instrumental approach . Born in Yerevan, Armenia , Art and Music is her full time job and it is something she has loved as far back as she can remember. Lucy Khanyan has received her Elemental music education in Armenia, she is mainly self-taught , later on she presented herself with original compositions . She is exploring new and unconventional approaches to creating music that blends elements of folk music with avant-garde techniques. Her compositions may feature unconventional instrumentation, complex harmonies, and unusual structures that challenge traditional ideas about what folk music can be. In her homeland, Lucy Khanyan founded several projects, the main ones being the Lucy Khanyan Ethno Jazz Trio and the Lucy Khanyan Avant Garde Folk Orchestra consisting of piano, Kanon, Blul, Shvi, drums and percussion, bass.
