Badfinger

Νοσταλγικός καλλιτέχνης power pop

Κομμάτια10

Badfinger defined 1970s power pop with soaring melodies, driving guitars & emotional depth. Mentored by The Beatles and signed to Apple Records they became the label’s biggest act outside the Fab Four with hits like “Come and Get It,” “No Matter What,” “Day After Day,” and “Baby Blue.” Their song “Without You” became a global standard through Harry Nilsson and Mariah Carey. Formed in Swansea, Wales by Pete Ham, Mike Gibbins & Ron Griffiths, later joined by Tom Evans, they first emerged as The Iveys before McCartney’s “Come and Get It” launched them as Badfinger. With Joey Molland replacing Griffiths, No Dice (1970) & Straight Up (1971) cemented their reputation. They contributed to George Harrison’s All Things Must Pass, backed Lennon & Starr and played at the Concert for Bangladesh. After Apple collapsed Badfinger signed with Warner Bros. and released Wish You Were Here (1974). Bob Jackson joined around this time initially replacing Ham. The five-piece — Ham, Molland, Evans, Gibbins, & Jackson — toured, but Molland quit before their next recording. The remaining quartet — Ham, Evans, Gibbins & Jackson recorded Head First (1975), shelved amid legal turmoil for 50 years before being officially released in 2025 after Jackson discovered the multitracks. With the passing of Ham (1975), Evans (1983), Gibbins (2005), & Molland (2024), surviving member Jackson continues the Badfinger legacy — keeping the spirit of the band alive. https://badfingeruk.com/head-first-landing-page-sales
