The black mask GLOCKENBACH wears isn't for mystery reasons. It's a tool — not a gap for the listener to fill, but a filter that strips everything down to the music. Behind the project is a producer who writes and produces every track himself. Most of the writing happens in sessions with friends and longtime collaborators across London, Berlin, and Los Angeles. Glockenbach's sound: melodic dance music with a pop flavor — built for the dancefloor, but also works without any beats. The numbers since his 2020 debut: close to one billion streams, five Top-3 airplay singles, two number ones, and collaborations with Armin van Buuren, Joel Corry, Imanbek, ClockClock & Tom Walker. "In the beginning I wore the mask so everyone focussed on the music only, not on me. Now it's more than that: it grounds me on stage, and honestly, it's fun. My only rule when I produce: if a track doesn't move me, it won't move anyone else. What I love about electronic music is the free spirit— there are no subgenre boxes i want to be put in, electronic music is electronic music.
