Primed for a busy summer on the festival circuit, Opal Mag is ready to capitalise on previous supports alongside acts including Black Honey, Overpass and Phoebe Green, with the musician’s early releases having already gained countless plaudits from key tastemakers such as NME, Stereogum, Dork, Clash, So Young, The Line Of Best Fit, Rough Trade, Rolling Stone UK and Under The Radar, as well as initial spins on the BBC 6 Music (Emily Pilbeam), KEXP (Cheryl Waters) and Triple J (Colby Robertson) airwaves. Detailing her EP, Opal Mag revealed: “‘Goodbye Lavender’ carries themes of love, identity, disappointment, nostalgia and the desire for freedom. The slow death of a relationship that only benefits one person with World End, Wasting, Kiss Me, Try Not to Hate Everything and the desire to go back to the past with Young Forever to a simpler time. Title track Goodbye Lavender ends the EP coming to terms with reality in an attempt to move forward and leave the rest behind, in the search for freedom, independence and happiness.
