Alison's Halo

Shoegaze Duo From The Arizona Desert. Alison’s Halo was formed in Tempe, Arizona during the spring of 1992 by Catherine Cooper (Vocals/Guitar), Adam Cooper (Guitar/Vocals). Within months of formation the band added Lynn Anderson (Bass) and an Alesis Drum Machine nicknamed Alison, and burst onto the local scene. They immediately began securing shows with national and international acts (The Verve, Ultra Vivid Scene, Curve, The Boo Radleys, Stereophonics, Medicine, Lovesliescrushing, Bailter Space and many others) as well as being invited to perform at numerous music festivals around the country. The Dozen/Calendar single was released by the legendary Independent Project Records in 1995 to wonderful national reviews and extensive college radio airplay. The single’s beautiful blend of chiming guitar noise and Catherine’s breathtaking melodies perked many an ear and led to the band loading up the van and heading out for a successful string of tour dates around the country. With the addition of David Rogers (Bass/Vocals) and Roger Brogan (Drums/Percussion), the band recorded their debut full-length, Eyedazzler, in a small warehouse to various 2, 4, & 8 porta-studio cassettes between 1992-1996. This stunning collection of songs was originally released on Detroit’s Burnt Hair Records in 1998 and has only grown in popularity since its original release and has been ranked among the top shoegaze and dreampop records from the golden eras of both genres.
