Underground καλλιτέχνης country blues
THE BURNER BAND play old school country and rock 'n roll in their own style. After two solo albums (2017's 'DOG SONGS' and 2020's 'DARK WHEELS TURN ABOVE OUR HEADS'), front man Lewis 'Burner' Pugh collaborated with bass man Ian Blackburn to forge a collection of songs ranging in subject matter from mental health, murder and Liverpool’s campaign to rid the city of The S*n. This became 2021's release "SIGNS & WONDERS", released on Shed Load Records, receiving strong reviews in Saving Country Music, Americana UK and Folk Radio. 2023 saw the release of their 2nd album "AGE OF THE LIAR" which expands the bands sound by incorporating reggae as well as the string band influences. Lewis also performs as a solo artist and has supported the likes of Bob Log III, Jesse Daniel, The Legendary Shack Shakers & The Mary Wallopers. He has also appeared at Broadstairs Folk festival, Deer Shed Festival, Orwell bluegrass festival and Strummer Camp. Previous albums have received rave reviews in The Morning Star, fRoots Magazine and FATEA Magazine.
The Burner Band plays a blend of old-school country, rock 'n' roll, and reggae, often featuring socially conscious lyrics as heard on their album 'Signs & Wonders'.
