Me You Us Them

Anchored by the partnership of guitarist Ryan Reesey and multi-instrumentalist Ian Ljungquist, Brooklyn-based Me You Us Them has cycled through many iterations over the last eighteen years. The band began in 2008 as a duo, setting Reesey's woozy guitars atop Ljungquist's shimmering blips and robotic thwacks. A self-produced EP on Triple Down Records soon gave way to the artful 2010 debut album with drummer James Jano (Widowspeak). Post-Data was praised at home and abroad even as it landed out of step with a New York then enthralled by indie-sleaze and dance-punk. The band's sound continued to evolve as Zach Eichenhorn (The Netherlands, Adam's Castle) took over on drums, Dave Nurmi (Appomattox) joined on bass, and Ljungquist shifted to second guitar. Many shows and several tours later, internal tensions quietly ended the band in 2014, leaving an unfinished follow-up in its wake. It would be years before Reesey and Ljungquist finally completed that material as 2022's Sound Confirms, an album meant as closure that instead reignited the project. With new drummer Jeff Gretz (Zao, From Autumn to Ashes) now behind the kit, Me You Us Them is back from the dead and has promised new music in 2026.
