Leon Majcen

Leon Majcen is a modern-day folksinger carrying on the tradition of Townes Van Zandt and John Prine. His breakout came as a teenager when Love and Misery became a hit on SiriusXM’s Coffee House channel, introducing his heartfelt take on American roots music. Since then, he’s spent the better part of a decade on the road — guitar in hand, chasing songs and stories across the country. His new album, Making A Livin’ (Not a Killin’), is his fourth in five years and his most personal yet. Written from the perspective of a road-tested troubadour, the record captures both the freedom and heartbreak of life in motion. Songs like “Down the Road” and “Sleeping in a Car Is Fun Until You Gotta Pee” showcase Leon’s wit and acoustic roots, while “Walking Down the Street” expands his sound into bluesy rock territory. Produced by multi-instrumentalist Pat Lyons (Colter Wall), the album was recorded live over two whirlwind days with a small rhythm section, highlighting Leon’s strength as a performer. Riley Downing (The Deslondes) also joins for a New Orleans–inspired duet, “Tallahassee.” Now based in Nashville and part of the Cloverdale Records family led by Evan Honer, Leon is carving out his own lane — blending folk, country, and Americana into music that’s as honest as the road itself.
