Risen from the ruins of an underground ska-band in 2000, Captain Zorx are Berlin's uncrowned kings of Disco Metal from Outer Space. Whether in full rockin' glory or cosy 'n unplugged: The genre-mashing bastard fusion sounds of Captain Zorx take styles as diverse as Rock, Metal, Funk, Old Skool, Bossanova and Disco and deliver them death blows. Firmly in the footsteps of greats such as Zappa, Mr Bungle and Ween, the men of Zorx bring the (sometimes embarrassing) sincerety of Lionel Richie and Metallica to the mash-up, pushing the music beyond parody and into the realm of musical marial arts. Their songs tell weird little stories about getting lost at the fairground, viagra- experiments gone awry, the heavenly salvation of a herb smoking janitor and of course their name giver: Captain Zorx himself. Their latest release "Maps of the Ancient Sea Kings" is a musical version of Captain Zorx' biggest adventure so far, the interstellar quest for the mysterious Maps of the Sea Kings of old... The story of intergalactic superhero Captain Zorx also made its way into two self published pulp-novels (available in German only).
Captain Zorx blends rock, metal, funk, and disco into a unique "Disco Metal from Outer Space" sound, drawing influences from Zappa and Mr Bungle.
Captain Zorx is from Berlin, Germany, where they are known as the "uncrowned kings" of their distinctive genre.
