Luiza Zan

Luiza Zan is one of Romania’s most celebrated jazz vocalists, known for her warm, expressive voice and ability to blend classic jazz with soul, funk, R&B, and Romanian folk influences. A classically trained singer, she began performing at the age of 4 and studied canto and lied-oratorio at the “George Enescu” University of Arts in Iași. She won 1st Prize at the Golden Stag Festival in 2004 and earned 2nd place at the Montreux Jazz Festival’s Jazz Voice Competition in 2014, a testament to her international appeal. Her debut album as a composer, “Heritage”, showcases personal and emotional songwriting, rooted in her family’s legacy. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with renowned artists and performed on stages across Europe and beyond. Luiza is not only a performer but also a vocal coach, composer for film and theater, and advocate for music education in rural Romania. Her music is ideal for fans of Ella Fitzgerald, Erykah Badu, and modern jazz vocalists who seek authenticity, storytelling, and soul.
