Cimafunk is an Afro-Cuban rockstar, redefining Cuban music for the world. His name reflects his heritage as a ‘cimarrón’ - Cubans of African descent who resisted and escaped slavery - symbolizing his mission to unite and celebrate blackness across borders. With his distinctive Afro-Cuban sound, electrifying live performances, and multiple Grammy nominations, Cimafunk is a force in global music. His debut album Terapia (2018), featuring the groundbreaking single “Me Voy,” and his standout NPR Tiny Desk Concert, ignited a global groove movement. Performing with his 9-piece band, La Tribu, Cimafunk has captivated audiences at major festivals like Coachella, New Orleans Jazz Festival, and Lollapalooza Chile, earning praise from legends like George Clinton, Fito Páez, and Chucho Valdés.
