Chinwe D. John

Chinwe D. John is a Nigerian-American physician and poet/lyricist. Born in Fullerton, California, she had lived on four continents by the time she was a teenager. Her works include a book of narrative poetry Tales of Fantasy and Reality; a contemporary classical music EP Within a Certain Time and Place, released under the Voces8 label; and her upcoming premiere full length album release, Songs for Our Times, released under the Divine Art Recordings label. In 2020, in response to the particular challenges facing both classical music and the musicians who keep it alive (especially those in the UK who due to multiple reasons are facing dire times), she was inspired to take the steps that would lead to her contemporay classical music projects. The goal of the recording projects, is to bring in a new audience to classical music, by writng songs which are reflective of our current times, and through the music of great contemporary composers, musically profound and accessible.
