August Charles is an alt-soul singer born in Ndola, Zambia and raised in Doncaster, South Yorkshire. His music sits between soul and alternative R&B, shaped by expressive vocals, rich instrumentation and emotionally driven storytelling. Inspired by the timeless songwriting and warmth of soul legends he grew up listening to, including Sampha and Leon Bridges, August aims to bring that spirit into a modern context, creating his own iteration rather than imitation. His songs often explore faith, self-discovery and the complexities of navigating life in the present day, rooted in honesty and vulnerability. August has shared stages with luminaries such as Nile Rodgers & CHIC, Emeli Sandé , Bilal, Gotts Street Park, Durand Bernarr & Adi Oasis while his live performances have seen him play Glastonbury, Love Supreme Festival, KITE, BST Hyde Park, Dot to Dot, and Deer Shed Festival amongst numerous others.
