Mixing Punk Rock with Grunge, Psychedelic Rock, New Wave, Garage, Glam and Goth Rock, add a soupçon of theatre and you have Healthy Junkies. Glamorous yet rebel lead punkster Nina Courson moved to London after she ran away from her home in Paris to pursue her own rock n roll rite of passage.. Destiny awaited when she found guitarist Phil-Honey-Jones in a Soho gig called PUNK. The two went on their way seeking solace in the world of music. Naming the band Healthy Junkies, reflecting the mental health epidemic currently spreading like wildfire through the core of western society. Nina and Phil arrived at this name as a reaction/rebellion to the numbing and dumbing down of nations with the use of so many pharmaceutical meds such as Prozac and other addictive drugs. Let's face it, we are all addicts to something whether it be Junk food, netflix, social media or taking selfies. Healthy Junkies are looking to burn out the liars with fire…They take no prisoners. In late 2013 Healthy Junkies added Dave Whitmore on bass and Tony Alda on drums hitting the road in the UK and Europe building a decent size following. Support slots have included The Rezillos, The Buzzcocks, Walter Lure, The Skeletal family, The Professionals, GBH, Vice Squad, Theatre of hate, 999, The Vibrators.. They toured the US West Coast for the first time in October/November 2018. Rodney Bingenheimer former KROQ DJ and current Sirius XM DJ continues to give the band many airplay spins .
