Cinematic Sounds - Part Three

The Ronnie Scott's Classical All Stars return with the third instalment of Cinematic Sounds, celebrating the unforgettable music of the silver screen through imaginative new arrangements for chamber ensemble. Blending virtuosity, storytelling and the spontaneity that defines the All Stars, this latest edition explores some of cinema's most memorable scores from the second half of the twentieth century through to the present day. The programme features music by legendary composers including John Williams and Ennio Morricone, alongside striking themes from films such as Black Swan, Joker, A Beautiful Mind, Phantom Thread, Edward Scissorhands and Jean-Luc Godard's Le Mépris. Reimagined in the ensemble's distinctive style, these celebrated soundtracks reveal fresh colours and unexpected musical connections. As always, pianist and musical director James Pearson will share stories about the films, their composers and the music itself, offering an entertaining insight into some of the greatest film scores ever written.
