TJ Johnson & his Band

TJ Johnson is widely considered to be one of the UK’s most charismatic and highly revered jazz & blues singers. In this concert, TJ and his Band will be performing songs from his new album, Down Home Blues, alongside jazz and blues favourites. Across his prolific career, TJ has released and featured on a multitude of albums, both with The TJ Johnson Band and Bourbon Kick, as well as solo recordings. Backed by his group of top London musicians, TJ plays music that transcends the boundaries of jazz, blues, soul, country and gospel, influenced by greats like Ray Charles, Dr John, Louis Armstrong, and Nina Simone. His distinctive voice and unique personal stage manner bring both the band and the audience together to create a rare atmosphere, taking listeners on a musical trail from New Orleans jazz dives to the hip speakeasies of New York.
