Bobby’s Voice is a deeply personal and ambitious cross-generational collaboration between LA-based multi-instrumentalist Kabir Kumar (Sun Kin) and his father, Rajesh Prakash Kumar. The project was created in conjunction with a stage play of the same name and features lyrics written by the elder Kumar. These eight songs explore the human impact of immigration, spanning two continents and forty years in the life of Kabir’s late uncle, Kiran 'Bobby' Kumar. The music blends Kabir's graceful sophisti-pop arrangements with field samples from Delhi, creating a rich atmosphere that allows the family history to breathe. June Swoon will open the evening with a piano performance of new material.
