Marco Mezquida Trio Live at BIMHUIS Amsterdam
Ωμή βραδιά modern free jazz
Marco Mezquida is widely acclaimed as one of Spain’s most brilliant and versatile pianists. From his native Menorca, he has built an impressive international career, performing in forty countries (including several performances at our venue) and collaborating with luminaries such as Silvia Pérez Cruz, Salvador Sobral and Lee Konitz. His playing moves effortlessly between jazz, classical music, flamenco and free improvisation. As a composer, improviser and performer, Mezquida has recorded 95 albums, 27 as leader or co-leader. Known for his ability to blur the boundaries between genres through his many and diverse projects, Mezquida now presents his new work alongside Cuban cellist Martín Meléndez and percussionist Aleix Tobias. This marks the trio’s fourth album, following the acclaimed and award-winning Letter to Milos (2022), Talismán (2020), and Ravel’s Dreams (2017).
