Blending hypnotic beats, punk energy and swirling synths, screensaver channel themes of power, control and systemic failure into a dark yet danceable strain of maximalist post-punk, drawing from krautrock and new wave. Formed in 2016 as a trans-Pacific project between Christopher Stephenson and Krystal Maynard, the band later settled in Melbourne with a full lineup including members of Personal Touch and Rat Columns. Their debut album Expressions of Interest (2021) established their sound and received strong international support. Follow-up Decent Shapes (2023) continued that trajectory, earning praise from NME, Rolling Stone Australia and Brooklyn Vegan, with the single "The Guilt" reaching the AMRAP Top 10.
