Bucharest Klezmer Band (BKB) brings the energy and vitality of the Klezmer genre to the TES FEST stage. Originating from Ashkenazi Jewish communities in Eastern Europe, this traditional music features the violin, clarinet, accordion, and cimbalom. The band's repertoire spans a wide emotional range, from exuberant joy to melancolic nostalgia. Founded in Bucharest in 2013 under the Federation of Jewish Communities in Romania, BKB consists of talented musicians who blend traditional instruments with contemporary rhythms. Led by conductor Bogdan Lifșin and artistic coordinator Silvian Horn, the group creates a musical bridge between generations and cultures through their authentic and captivating performances.
