Minimal-grootheid Philip Glass schreef het negendelige ballet in 1999 voor een Braziliaans ensemble en hij mengde allerlei lokale slagwerkkleuren en opzwepende ritmes door zijn bekende eigen stijl. The DOMNIQ Group is de grensverleggende muziektheatergroep rond de prijswinnende Nederlandse slagwerker DOMNIQ (Dominique Vleeshouwers). De groep breidt Aguas da Amazonia uit tot een avondvullende viering van diversiteit, percussie én water.
