Joe Block, one of today's most distinguished young pianists and composers, leads an evening featuring a performance set followed by a late-night jam session at Close Up. Originally from Philadelphia and now a prominent figure in the New York jazz scene, Block is a Juilliard graduate and regular arranger for the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra. His career includes collaborations with jazz luminaries such as Wynton Marsalis and Kurt Rosenwinkel, alongside recognition as a Herbie Hancock Institute International Piano Competition finalist. He is also a designated Steinway Artist and a co-founder of the Philadelphia Ambassador Big Band.
