Everything about Black Label Society begins with the riff. A dedicated disciple of Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, and Deep Purple, frontman Zakk Wylde focuses on massive guitar hooks as the main ingredient of the band's sound. Their eleventh album, Doom Crew Inc., serves as both a tribute to their dedicated road crew and a salute to the legion of fans who have supported them since 1998. Wylde, a heavy metal legend who rose to prominence as Ozzy Osbourne's loyal guitarist, continues to trade solos and twin-guitar parts with Dario Lorina, supported by bassist John 'J.D.' DeServio and drummer Jeff Fabb. Recorded at Wylde's home studio, the Black Vatican, the band's latest work follows the philosophy that less is more—except when it comes to the guitar solos.
