Chris Cheek & Jorge Rossy

Chris Cheek and Jorge Rossy reunite their long-standing partnership from their Berklee days in a new European quartet alongside pianist Rembrandt Frerichs and electric bassist Mark Haanstra. Chris Cheek is one of his generation's most lyrical and influential voices, known for an expressive, singing saxophone sound that has led him to work with legends like Bill Frisell and Charlie Haden. Drummer Jorge Rossy, famous for his years with the Brad Mehldau Trio, joins Cheek for an exploration of original repertoire that leaves generous space for collective improvisation. While Frerichs often works with historical instruments, for this project he shapes the ensemble's sound using the Steinway and Fender Rhodes.
