The Solomon Gundy Band is a project by British trumpeter and composer Sean Corby, featuring a cross-generational collective from the UK jazz scene. Their music fuses jazz, electronica, and Afro-diasporic rhythms, moving between vibrant energy and haunting textures. Named after the spicy Jamaican pickled herring paste to reflect their diverse assembly of sounds and people, the band creates conscious "sound system jazz" for the 21st century. Their debut album Hancestry, produced by Ashley Slater and featuring UK jazz legend Courtney Pine, bridges the spirit of the Jazz Warriors with contemporary experimentation.
