John Waite is a singer and songwriter from Lancashire, England, who rose to fame as the lead vocalist of The Babys in the 1970s. After the group disbanded in 1981, he launched a successful solo career, achieving international acclaim with his number-one hit single "Missing You" from the 1984 album No Brakes. In the late 1980s, he fronted the supergroup Bad English, scoring another chart-topping success with "When I See You Smile." Known for his distinct voice and classic rock style, Waite continues to perform and record as a solo artist.
